From Germany comes this high quality reel at a very attractive price. It features all the "must-haves" in today's reel market: large arbor design, light weight, rim control, easily changed spools,glossy anodizing, and a smooth disc drag. I've used my S3 quite a bit recently and the reel has performed flawlessly. It has enough drag to be able to handle any freshwater fish and most saltwater species up to about the one hundred pound tarpon range. The S3 will also make a superb spey reel as it has enough capacity for speylines into at least the 8/9/10 Windcutter class. I caught a weighed eight pound bonefish on mine and as the fish took about eighty yards or so of backing the drag purred right along. The drag is actually three "buds" made of a composite material that come to bear against a stainless disc. It really is hard to believe you can get all this, manufactured in Germany, for under $400.00. I stock them in black, but titanium is available with a minimum wait. Because you've shown a lot of interest in them, I've decided to also feature the Vosseler DC series. This is a beautiful reel made more for freshwater uses, though in the largest sizes will also function admirably in the salt. It features anodized aluminum and a synthetic drag system capable of handling any fish likly to be pursued with a reel of this size. Easily interchanged spools and rim control are part of the design. I have them in stock in the titanium finish, but black and silver are also available. A standard arbor and a large arbor spool are avaaible for each of the three sizes. The reel can be ordered with either spool and spare spools of either style will work on the same frame.

Note as of July 2, 2008: For various reasons I have decided that I am no longer going to carry the Vosseler reels. I have a significant inventory of the S series spare spools, DC series reels and spools, and even an RC model with a few spare spools in stock.
