Henschel Reels

Titanium Gold
|
Henschel Reels come from Germany and offer some options not available
anywhere else at any cost. The reels still in the market place are the dual-mode in sizes #2-5 and the Ulti-mode in sizes #2-4. Both have a progressive
reelfoot option. This reelfoot places the frame and spool of the
reel closer to being under your casting hand and provides two advantages.
The first is that the rod/reel combination simply feels lighter,
especially when casting. Secondly, the rod seems to "come alive"
in your hands which may have a lot to do with the rod/reel feeling
lighter. This particular design is not so exaggerated that you end
up with a radical angle of the line to the first stripping guide,
nor does it prevent your rod hand line finger from controlling the
line effectively on the retrieve. Having said all that, Henschel
still provides all sizes with a traditional foot as standard. Sizes
range from a 7/8 weight all the way to a serious large tarpon/bluewater
reel. Spare spools
are available and are quite simple to change. The HART-COAT finish
on the Black and Silver aluminum models is remarkably durable and
is much more resistant to scratches and boat marks than virtually
any anodized reel. The
dual-mode design is friction based so there is no intermediate "chatter"
mode as with some other models. The Ulti-mode also features the Henschel dual-mode system. The capacities are
about the same as the standard dual-modes, but the arbors are quite
a bit larger. All the clutch and drag mechanisms are a part of the
frame so that the spools are quite a bit less expensive.

for a progressive reelfoot on all models.
|
I strongly recommend the progressive reelfoot option with all Henschel reels. The redistribution of effective mass makes it well worth the small additional cost. |
