For several months I had a note here saying I'd let you know when Terry Hayden decides to start making reels again. The time has arrived! Right now he's still in the prototype stage, but we're hoping production reels will be available in 2011. There will be two frames, one designed for lines weights 6-8 and the other, which will have two interchangeable spools available, will cover line weights 8-12. They'll have the same lever actuated drag, will be anti-reverse only, but the drag and clutch mechanism have been changed. His two goals were to create a lighter reel and to bring the cost down considerably. He's quite certain he's done that and knows that the finished reels should be about four ounces lighter than the equivalent Pursuit models from previous production. Terry's quite certain he's managed to do both those things without creating a "cheaper" reel. Stay tuned as I'll add more details here when they become available.
